Matcha Mask

Matcha Mask

So lately I have been adding matcha powder to my diet since it contains so many benefits for your body. I wanted to see if there was a way to add it to my beauty routine. Matcha powder is basically ground up green tea leaves and green tea is great for redness!

I decided to use my matcha powder and turn it into a mask and it worked out amazingly! I wish I took a before and after of my face because before I used this mask I was picking my black heads with my pore extractor so my t-zone was all red. After I used the mask it was all gone! This mask is super easy to make (it probably took me a minute) and used with ingredients you can most likely find in your kitchen.

To transform my matcha powder into a mask, I add honey, coconut oil, water and tea tree oil.  Other than redness, matcha powder is full of antioxidants and natural antibiotics.  Matcha will detox your skin as well as protect it from harmful effects. Besides it having a nice consistency, I added honey because it has antibacterial/anti-fungal benefits great for acne, it is a pore cleanser, and a natural humectant. It is optional but I added a few drops of tea tree oil to give the mask an extra kick to fight acne.

What You Need:

  • 1 tsp Matcha Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Water
  • 1/2 tsp Honey
  • 1/2 tsp Coconut Oil
  • few drops of tea tree oil (optional)

Simply mix ingredients together until it is a wet paste consistency.  Apply to a clean face and leave on for about 10-15 minutes.  Rinse of with lukewarm water while massaging off with fingers.

Oatmeal and Honey Mask

Oatmeal and Honey Mask

Make this easy mask in just 5 minutes with items you can find in your kitchen. This mask is great for moisturizing your skin and great acne-prone skin.  The oatmeal will absorb oils on your face, it's a natural anti-inflammatory, and is very moisturizing. Honey is a natural humectant, which will draw moisture from the air and into your skin. Honey is also a natural antibacterial, antiseptic, and antioxidant.  Lemons are also a natural antibacterial, they are rich and vitamin c and citric acid.  Which is perfect for those pesky blemishes and blackheads.  And for an extra acne killer, add tea tree oil! Tea Tree Oil is my go to for when I get pimples, it works wonders.

To make this super easy mask

  • 1/3 cup fine ground oatmeal
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Honey
  • few drops of tea tree oil (optional for extra acne killer)

To make finely ground oatmeal, just throw your oatmeal in a blender or food processor. Mix all ingredients well. Apply to face and leave on for about 15 minutes. Be careful it can get a little messy because some of the oats may fall off.  When you are rinsing mask off massage in a circular motion. This will cause the oats to gentle exfoliate the dead skin on your face, leaving it feeling smooth and moisturized!
